Scientifically known as Lippia Javanica, the shrub can be found in widespread areas across South Africa, with the exception of the Western Cape. Commonly known as Mosukujane, it is said to be one of the most aromatic of South Africa’s indigenous shrubs.
USES
It is traditionally used to treat influenza, lung infection and skin disorder. This plant is also said to be affective against fever, especially in cases of Malaria. This tea may also be used as a steaming method to open up your nasil passage and airways. Place tea in a bowl / basin of hot water, use a towel over your head to cover yourself and the basin / bowl, breathing in the aroma’s from the tea.
